We’re super excited to announce a fun new Summer program at Fruit Hill! Introducing: SATURDAY SPROUTS! Join us on Saturday mornings starting at 10:30am for a fun, educational program with a themed lesson, craft or activity, story time, and snack!
10:30AM every Saturday this summer starting Saturday June 13. No online ticket sales. Arrive 15 mins early to register!
Location: in the flower garden at Fruit Hill Orchard. 2745 Thomas Jefferson Parkway Palmyra, VA 22963
$7 per participating child
all ages are welcome, but the program is geared towards ages 3-9. An adult must accompany children at all times. Drop offs are not allowed.

June 13th: SEEDS!
Join us in the garden to learn about seeds! What do they need to grow? How do you take care of them? Farmer Terry will give a short lesson then Farmer Grace will read a quick story time. Then the kids will get to decorate their own plant cups and start their very own seeds while enjoying a yummy snack.

June 20th: FLOWERS!
Farmer Terry will lead a quick lesson in pollination and why flowers are so important for food and fun! Then we will create crafty bouquets to bring home while enjoying a yummy snack.

June 27th: BEES
Farmer Terry is not only “Farmer” Terry, he’s also Beekeeper Terry! He will show the kids his beekeeping suit, some of his tools and how they work, and weather dependent, may even bring out his observation beehive! Then kids will then make fun little bees to bring home while enjoying a snack.

July 4th
Celebrate Independence Day with us! Farmer Terry will read a story, we’ll play a fun game, and then do a July 4th themed craft (exact craft TBD) while enjoying a snack.

July 11th: FRUIT!
Farmer Terry will give a quick lesson on fruit. Where does it come from? How does it grow? Then we will play a fun game and do a quick fruit themed stamping craft while enjoying a snack.

July 18: Soil & Insects!
Farmer Terry will give a quick lesson on soil health and some of the insects that keep the soil healthy and good for growing food. Then we will read a book and work on soil collages while enjoying a snack.

July 25: Tractors
There are lots of tools we use to help us grow things, and tractors are one of the most important! The kids will get to see the tractors up close while Farmer Terry explains all the different jobs they help us do! Then, we will have a fun activity (exact activity TBD) while enjoying a snack.
